The word automobile is derived from the Latin words auto-mobile and autos, which mean motor and moving. In the United States, cars are sold under different brand names.

Model T

The Ford Model T is one of the most iconic vehicles in the history of the automotive industry. It was the first mass-produced car, bringing the automotive revolution to the United States and Canada. This car also served the country during the war, saving many lives as an ambulance. Its popularity grew to such an extent that advertising was no longer necessary from 1917 to 1923.

In 1913, the company sold this subsidiary and merged with the Benz Auto Import Company of America. After the merger, the Mercedes-Benz automobile company was established in New York.

Chrysler

Chrysler automobiles are one of the biggest names in automobiles. In 2012, the company produced 2.37 million vehicles. It is owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, headquartered in Turin, Italy. The company’s products include cars, minivans, and trucks.

Toyota

Toyota automobiles are known worldwide. The company produces around 10 million vehicles per year and is located in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan. Founded in 1937 by Kiichiro Toyoda, the company has become one of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers.

Volkswagen

Volkswagen began manufacturing electric cars in 2009. In 2009, the company recruited Karl-Thomas to lead Electric Traction. The company’s first electric vehicle product was the two-door E-UP, unveiled at the 63rd Frankfurt Automobile Exhibition. The vehicle has a 60-kilowatt electric motor that drives the front wheels.
